just a little back story to start, when I got the car the guy I got it from said the AC didn't work he had it fixed and drove the car on about a 150 mile trip and when he got back it was out of freon and didn't work anymore (missing o ring or something). Well it turns out when I looked at it the thing wasn't oiled so on that trip it was basically running on just refregerant and no oil. I filled it with oil and r134a and it works ok (it can keep up with the ga heat with it on max ac) but the compressor makes a loud clicking noise (kinda like playing cards in bike spokes). How long do ya'll think a compressor can go on like this before it just siezes up and doesn't work anymore? I have 2 years of college left before I will have a real job and enough money to actueally fix it (I can't justify 1k bucks of ac work on a car that likley isn't worth much over 2k). I am allready only using it when rolling the window down just means I am blowing hot air in my face.

On another note as a warning to anyone out there who is using the conversion connectors for r12 to r134a that commector can jam holding the schrader valve open spraying all that r134 out that you have just put in (or atleast enough untill I could get a wrench on to remove the adapter).
