Thanks for catching the oversight, Tom. I'd discussed this show in other posts but didn't post one specifically for this show. Thanks for bringing it to the forefront!!
CLICK HERE to go to Cruisin Bruice's Web page that hosts the flier (once there, click on Lion's Club emblem on the 13 August block).
The picture at the top of Bruce's car shows page is from last year's event. If you look closely, the 6 or more Elky's were parked near the foot of the street light on the right of the picture. Last year's attendance (11 Sept) was a record breaking 450 cars.
So. There's going to be at least 3 region 2 Elkys (1st thru 3rd place) and a contender from Region 1 (LeoC2 can have 4th place). Any more? _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

Awfully quiet out there, is there something about this show that doesn't excite people? Sounds like a good show on paper. Then again, that show in Fairhaven sounded good on paper too, huh Tom. (congrats on your win Tom) Like you said Mike, guess us three should be good for 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Wanna flip a coin for it guys? How bout you Jay & Dian, going? Still got Prem II? Or is there already a Prem III? Ernie? John? Alan? Anybody? I didn't realize this show had an Elky class Tom. Is it one class for all Elks? Or do they split stock and modified? Well, sounds good either way, see you guys there. _________________ Mark

Had a double post there for some reason. Sorry guys. Couldn't figure out how to delete it though, so I edited it and typed this instead, sometimes I amaze myself.... _________________ Mark

ONE el Camino class at the South Attleboro Show
But check this out -- there is also a Ranchero class ! ! Now for this one we may get lucky and see a very special and rare Ranchero that can drive in under its own power (gotta wonder if they will accept Ranchero's - in tow ?)

Still kinda quiet here for this show. Not a lot of chatter, and no response at all from Leo. Hmmmm.
About now, Mark will be waxing his engine again and Tom will be spit shining all that chrome. Guess flicking the bugs off of my bumper won't do it this time and I'll have to wash and wax it just to give you two a decent run for your money.
Only one Ranchero last year as I recall, and I think he left early.
Last year this event was in Sept but was still hot like it was for the All Chevy Show. Looks at least like the weather might cooperate this year.
See ya Sunday. _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

Mike, Your close. Today was the body, I'll polish the motor tomorrow. With that Elk you own, it could be covered in bugs, and you could still win. But only if Tom doesn't show up. Heh, Heh. _________________ Mark

So how long are you guys going to keep me in suspense? Which one of you took first place? _________________ Ernie

Hey Ernie, Was great seeing you again. Well I believe Mike got 3rd, and Tom grabbed 2nd, as for 1st, well I'll just keep you in suspence awhile longer. Jay hope you got the gremlins sorted out with the Elk, missed ya the the show. Mike, Tom, it was a pleasure. Later... _________________ Mark

Ernie, wait no longer Mark's too modest to mention that he took 1st.
Tom and Mark will attest the administration of the awards was really hosed up. Cruisin Bruse did all he could to untangle things, but [computer-glitch notwithstanding] the info he was being fed by the event officials (regarding Elkys at least) was in error.
Bruce annouced Mark's 1st, then announced Tom as 3rd, with a promise to fill in 2nd in a few minutes when the officials got it sorted out, which they didn't. We had to inquire after the show was over, because if you or Ed and Carol had taken 2nd, I wanted to ensure you got your trophy. They then announced that Tom earned had 2nd (not 3rd) and that I was 3rd. After that, that's when we took the picture of the 3 of us.
Up until that time I thought it was a pretty decent event. Let's hope for better administration next time.
