hey guys i got a 1978 gmc cabellaro with factory a/c..i bought the car with all new parts installed and a reman. compressor but no charge and the harness is shot.. i need to know how the electrical harness is hooked up and if this system used a low side pressure switch hooked into a port on the accumulator..i am also doing a r134 conversion and cnat get the low side port on the accumulator any reason y not??? thx

My '81 uses a low side switch on one of the accumulator ports and does not use a high side switch on the compressor. The A/C harness does connect to the engine harness via a connector...

I assume you are having trouble getting the new R134 low side fitting on the old R12 port on the accumulator. I have seen two different styles. One has a valve core in it and you must remove the valve core from the accumulator to get it installed. The other style just has a plunger that will push on the old valve core.
