nope I did the same thing LOL...best thing I found out is to get a junk one, mine came out of a 1983 monte it fits but the needle is off color, it hooks onto the speedo cable just fine! but I tried everything to fix mine ( even super glue LOL) so go to a junkyard and find ya one then take it apart and fix it that way....good luck
