I bought some chrome window cranks for my 1980 el camino and the damn things won't fit. How do you get these things on there. The stock ones were easy. I just took a screw driver to it but these are supposed to fit and they don't. Ahh!

does it have the clip ring on it? if so pull the ring off, make sure it slips on, figure out which way you want it to sit, put the ring back on, line it up in the desired direction, and give it a good pop with the heel of your hand. you have to hit it hard enough for the window crank shaft to expand the ring enough for the handle to slip on. when the ring gets to the groove in the shaft it will contract and hold the handle on. hope this helps.

Yeah that for the stock models. The one that I have has a hex bolt that goes through to lock it in place. It's not a stock cranck. This is what it is:

Maybe I will just take a dremel to it and force it to fit.
