While there are no dues or fees for membership at El Camino
Central, we do rely upon member contributions to keep the site and server running smoothly. As membership grows, so does
site usage. Recently we have seen a huge jump in server load and bandwidth. As a result, at times we notice extremely
slow page loading. Many of you may have also noticed the new member rankings used to recognize supporting members.

Many of us are aware of the national organization,Specialty Equiptment Market Association that represents most of the aftermarket hobby. It is a large association that has some clout and works with our legislators to provde fair legislation affecting our hobby or to oppose laws that are unfair or overly restrictive. It is free to join and provides us with a voice.I highly encourage all our members to join as the website also provides state by state legislative initiatives and some very interesting reading. Hopefully this support will help find a happy medium between the enviroment and our passion. www.sema.org . _________________ A good friend will come and bail you out of jail.A true friend is sitting next to you saying " Damn, wasn`t that fun" !

I dont know when they changed it but the M stands for marketing. (not trying to pick on you)
We are involeved with it thru our 4wd association, and I get lots of info from them. Its good they are on our side as they have helped stop a lot of bad laws from going into effect.
Dustym, Thanks, correction edited.Hope others will join. _________________ A good friend will come and bail you out of jail.A true friend is sitting next to you saying " Damn, wasn`t that fun" !
Since when is it free to join? I pay $100 a year as a member company, some others pay a lot more. Car clubs can jon also for a fee. _________________ Leo

Lenny, thanks for posting this up. I looked at the SEMA site yesterday, checked out the membership options and came away with the impression that an individual membership was something like $150.
With me being here in Australia, the main incentive of being a member would be having the opportunity of attending the SEMA show if I could coincide a trip to the US. _________________ John (from Down Under)

I`ve only seen parts of the SEMA show on television and it looks great. It appears that it would require several days to fully appreciate. What is the impression of others that have attended? _________________ A good friend will come and bail you out of jail.A true friend is sitting next to you saying " Damn, wasn`t that fun" !
