Installed a reman LT1 with accessories that came out of a '95 Impala SS. Donor block's PS whined, so got a reman to replace it. Wasn't long before the whine and some leakage was evident with the newer unit as well. Checked some other sites and read a lot about how bad these pumps have been, seem to have a tendency to overheat. Read too that the AGR and AC/Delco reman units don't have a good history. As I am ready to replace it again Evil or Very Mad wondering if anyone else has insight/suggestions/ideas to share?

Wish I could help but I'm still running the original PS pump that came on my LT1. You might check out www.impalassforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi this is the Impala forums and have a lot good LT1 info on the site. If you do a few searches you should be able to see what they are doing for PS pumps.

Ditto Poltergeist -- My LT1 (from a '91 Roadmaster) came with a pump and I'm still running that pump with no problem.
