I found a 78 or 79 El Camino next to where I work. The body is off the frame sitting on blocks (in primer) and the frame and chassis is sitting right next to it with everything there including the engine. The body looks to be in great shape with minor dings and bumps. The interior looks to be trashed but it has tilt wheel and tach and gauge package. The frame and all the pluming lines are in great shape as is the rear end. I'm not sure if its a posi or not. The exhaust looks really good too with Flowmasters. The guy told me he had an offer for $750 for the body and $500 for the chassis. I am glad the body is off the frame...just one less thing I need to do to take it all apart. Sorry I dont have any pics but I will try to remember my camera and go and get a few. _________________ 1980 El Camino. Plans include 69 Camaro Cortez Silver paint, black stripes, red interior. Hi mcsslover, I just wanted to say good luck to you, that worked out with perfect timing, you must have been meant to have the car. They say good things come to those that wait, so all the best. No doubt you'll put up some progress pics.
WAIT A MINUTE! He has an offer of $750.00 that he DOESN'T take; you offer him $600.00 that you DON'T have and he TAKES $300.00 that you have to borrow?
I was born on a Friday, BUT it wasn't last Friday. . . Does anyone else see this story, as just a little "strange"? Or, is it just me. . .?

This is intriguing. I'm with 84elky in that I just don't understand this deal and its killing me how you pulled this off. Explain further if you don't feel this is imposing.

Another 3 to 9 years should finish it.
Like I told you, they guy made me an offer I couldnt refuse and so my friend the cabinetmaker boss is going to pay the $300 for me and I'll just work it back off. My boss is the type of guy who'll give the shirt off his back and he new I had been interested in it ever since I started working for him. He's a good guy as is the owner of the Elky _________________ 1980 El Camino. Plans include 69 Camaro Cortez Silver paint, black stripes, red interior. Engine, suspension and tranny not sure yet.
