I am trying to remove the condensor?(the finned aluminum square shaped, looks like a large tranny cooler looking thing) It is on a 1972 El Camino. Can someone PLEASE give me the run down on what I need to do to effectively remove this thing? No matter what I do I can't get it out. Please help as this is holding up my cam swap. Thanks!

what seems to be the problem? you trying to put your cam in through the front right, like you took the gril off and radiator shroud all that non-sence so you can have enough room to slide the cam in? its the AC condencer? or oil cooler? a oil cooler should just have two hoses with adjustible fastners that are easily reamovable.could you send picks of the cituation

Yes I am trying to remove the cam thru the front. I have the radiator and shroud out and basically trying to slide the cam out the front but it is hitting the a/c condensor. I am trying to figure out how to remove it. I am not sure exactly how to do this. I.E: What to take off meaning the grill, hood latch, bumper etc. The passenger side seems to be loose but the drivers side seems to be hanging up on something. I think I have it all unbolted but evidently I am missing something. Does this thing come out from the top or bottom? I havent removed my front grill. Is it necessary to do this or?????

i have always took grill out and slid it in through there. but the condencer, check the drivers side again for any bolts or clips wires that my be holding it up if its half way loose you may be able to move it a bit to be able to clear you sliding the cam in. should come out from the bottom.

Remove the grille, grille support/hood latch assy, and fender tie bar (2 bolts on each side where fenders bolt to). The condensor has 4 mounting points, remove the bolts from the core support. Typically if you try and remove the nuts from the rubber isolators you will twist them apart. You should be able to lift the caond. out the top. If not just remove the 4 front bumper bolts and take the bumper off.
