Absolutely, unless the bidding gets unreasonable. I encourage any member to communicate with me on any auction so I won't bid against them. My eBay name is Vulcan-1500.
Note: I play on eBay a lot and hate to bid against friends. If there was a place in Profile comments to put such things I would consider it.
