I can handle that...

ST69 13680 BAL172730 BDY
ST is short for STy;e
69 - 1969
13680 - El Camino 2 dr pickup
BAL - Baltimore MD plant ID
172730 - Body serial number (not intended to match VIN, issued by Chevy central office in order sequence to plant
BDY is short for BoDY

TR 756
TR is short for TRim
756 - Black bucket seat interior trum code
02C - Target Production Week, Feb, 3rd week of 1969
NOTE-Check this, its should be 02C not 12C. Let me know if 12C

71 71 PNT
Upper and lower paint colors
71 - LeMans Blue solid color paint
PNT - short for PaiNT

BFL091136
Internal plant identification codes used in production, ceased to have important once car left facility and no info exists as to their meaning.

Serial Number AKA VIN
136809B332459
1 - Chevrolet Division of GM
36 - Chevelle Malibu or Custom El Camino V8, NOTE-Optional engines are not coded
80 - 2-dr pickup delivery
9 - 1969
B - Baltimore GMAD final assembly plant
333459 - Production sequential serial number. The 1st Chevelle model built at BAL in 1969 was assigned 300001 making this the 33,459th unit built to date. Includes all model in the Chevelle 13000 series built at the plant. 333458 could have been a station wagon and 333460 could have been a 4 dr sedan etc.

Also note - No way to determine what the engine was other then a V8 or what options is had when new, such the SS396 option. The only way to determine that is to find a build sheet that may have been left in the car during production or have some other original paper doc's. They were never intended to be part of the literature but due to the fact that many were generated for each vehicle and production was about over 60 vehicles per hour, many times the got left where they fell or were attached. If there could not be seen, no one cared if they were under the carpet. It was just trash to the worked and he was not about to pick it up.

READ THIS

G.M. of Canada through their Vintage Vehicle Services department are able to provide vehicle build info such as rpo's, original engine id numbers, production date, trim and paint codes, production numbers and engineering specifications on all Canadian built or sold Chevelles, Camaros, Corvettes etc.
This applies if the plant code in your vin is the number 1, if it is a letter like B for Baltimore we probably would not have the info. There were some Chevelles imported to Canada from Baltimore and Kansas City (in limited numbers).

In general we have, as available, option content, shipping and/or production date, selling dealer name or code, trim and paint codes, production numbers for that model at our plants, producing plant, engine size and HP and most engine ID stamping codes, mvma or engineering specifications, and some promo material from the current day.

Data varies according to model year and normal turn around time in fall and winter is 2-3 weeks, in spring and summer it can run 4-5 weeks. If someone is buying a car and needs to know the same day we can fax just the option (rpo) list on the vehicle so they know if it is legitimate or fake, it's is a $69.55 charge to fax this, with the rest of the package following in the normal time frame.

If the vin number has a letter in the middle it is U.S. built so it is doubtful we would have any info unless it was originally sold in Canada. If the vin has the number 1 it is usually a Canadian built car and we should have info on it. If we have no info then there is no charge.

* As an example: In 1969 we built 15,356 Chevelles for U.S. sale, and 42,524 full size Chevrolets.
* In 1970 that jumped to 42,594 Chevelles, down to 11,109 full size Chevrolets and 25,388 Pontiac LeMans models.
* In 1971 we shipped 18,261 Chevelles south to the U.S., as well as 16,003 Monte Carlos, and 74, 903 full size Chevrolets.
* In 1972 we shipped 36,879 Chevelles south as well as 17,734 Monte Carlos.

And all this is on top of Canadian sales, which means if the car was sold by GM Canada we would have records on those COPO 427 Chevelles from 1969 that we sold here even though they were Baltimore built, we also have records on Canadian built 442's, Camaros, GTO's, GS455's, you name it.

On current day product we can provide the same info going back 8 years on all new cars, Canadian or U.S. sold or built. This includes 1993 and newer Camaro, Firebird and Corvette models
Note that on modern product we have no U.S. production numbers.

Just touching on the build month (12C).

It should be 01C with a production number of 333459.

For the Baltimore Plant:
December 1968 the last production number for the month was 333025.
January 1969 the last production number for the month was 344660.

Just a thought, I am not an expert. I am in the process of decoding my 1969 SS El Camino and just thought I would point this out.

I don't know where you got the info on the ending VIN's but his data jives with other 1969's I have that are built in Feb. 1969.

I agree the 12C is wrong but if you notice I corrected it to 02C which fits about a dozen other Baltimore cars I have.
