I want to upgrade my brakes to an all around disc brake, have disc in the front already but i want bigger brakes, so does anyone know what the best kit for a reasonable price is, within the 1-2,000 dollar range.
Or is there a better way to make my own kit,
do I need to buy spindles separately?

for 2300 bucks Wilwood has a serious brake kit front and rear 6 piston calipers up front 13 in rotors (17in rims are needed) and 4 piston calipers in the rear with 12 inch slots..both have cross drilled rotors..
for 1800 classic performance parts has a big break kit everything you need...front and rear. 13 in slots and 12 in back..its like a c5 break kit on steroids lol..they re did the calipers and so it has 60% more clamping force than the c5 kits.(this is the good deal)
if you wanna spend 4 grand...?
you can get the AP racing front break kit 6 piston break calipers massive 14 inch slots... and then buy the wilwood rear break kit and you should stop better than a 38 year car was ever designed for lol...thats my goal...any of these kits will do that..hope this helpd _________________ tim fraley

I'm sure you could do something like what I'm going to do for my Camaro. Put LS1 brakes on the front, and if you wanted PBR calipers for the rear. 16" wheels minimum for the front brakes, though. I paid I think about $200 for parts so far for my front setup. Can't beat that.

I bought 98+ F-body rotors, also you'll need the calipers. I took my current brake rotors and machined the rotor off to make it a hub because the later rotors are slip-on. The only other requirement is you have to trim the spindle a little bit. If you want more information and pictures go to thirdgen.org.
