FRONT AND REAR COIL SPRING PADS { ISOLATORS}

1985 Elcamino coil spring pads , where can I purchase them from ? Called different names by different people. Are these still made by GM ? Anybody have any part numbers .? Thanks !!

I recently tried locating isolator pads for the front end, and was unsuccessful. I tried Kragen, rockauto dot com, Autozone, Pep Boys, and a few other online places and nobody even had a listing. I'm interested to see what sources some may be able to come up with.

They only show ones for rear, in catalog.
Hopefully if you call, they may also have them for the fronts.
They didn't show any fronts in their catalog.
But may be worth the call.

Let me know if you get any, as I am going to re-do my front and rear suspension this Spring and would like to know how their products and company are.

I just checked at gmpartsdirect.com and the factory front upper isolator is still available. Part # 15597425, $4.86ea from gmpd or if you go to a dealer should be around $8.17 ea. From gmpd you will have to pay shipping so from a dealer might be cheaper.

The rear upper is not available so you'll have to aftermarket.

Why spend BIG bucks on spring insulators?
We use, and have GOOD success, just cutting a length of heater hose and slipping it over the end coils.
Will last just as long as those expensive so-called insulators!

The ones On P.S.T. .. Do the polygraphite make noises when installed ? Aren"t the original ones some type of rubber ?

Bought a pair of these rear coil spring isolator's # 10247105

Replaced my rear coil springs yesterday, with variable rate springs, Moog brand. Originals looked to be variable rate too.
I found these isolators to be MUCH smaller in diameter and MUCH thinner in thickness, compared to the orignals, that still existed on my 83 Camino.

Same old story, give you less product and charge you MORE !

I auctually just went through this myself. I had a heck of a time trying to find the front coil spring isolaters for my 83 elky. Rears are listed through just about any company imageable but trying to find the fronts are a little trickier. I went to my local spped shop and was looking around through their catalogs and noticed that they give dimensions for all of the isolaters in their advertising. Went home measured mine (thickness,outside diameter,inside diameter, and wall thickness). Found that there was a perfect match to the old one. Off hand I don't remember what car it was too. I think it was an older car. I'll have to look for the reciept see if it has part numbers. I installed in with no problems. It was from energy suspension. I'll try and get back to you with a part number

I bought the poly isolaters from Energy suspension. From what I hear most of any poly bushings you use they squeek sometimes. I can't say yea or nay as I still don't have the car back toghter and on the road yet. It'll be a while for that. But I used some of the left over lube from the control arm bushings that I got from E.S. on top and bottoms of the isolaters. You can also buy the lube seperately from stores like summit and jegs. Even my local shop sells it behind the counter.

I guess we will se when I get it up and running. I use poly on EVERYTHING! With LOTS of lube.
