Hey I have the old style tanueau cover that snaps onto the truck. Well it is eather vinyl or leather. Never the less I am not sure how to clean it? My moms bf told me to use horse leather soap. Another person said that I could just take it to the car wash and then have them or me dry it vary quickly. I really do not know what to do so could anyone help me
P.S. this is what the cover look like ( this is not my El Camino)
It will be made of vinyl. Wash it real good with a soft scrub brush and a cleaner. I used Simple Green all-purpose cleaner after wetting down the cover. Rinse it real good and dry it with a towel.
After it is dry apply 303 Aerospace Protectant in no more half of it at a time and wipe it dry. This stuff is also good for your vinyl interiors. It has a UV SPF 40 screening product in it.
If I recall I bought mine at Pep Boys. Here is a link to 303 products. They will have retailer locations.
So your telling me to wash my car normally and then take this 303 product and shoot it on my tanueau cover?
No, clean it with a soft brush and a cleaner like I wrote to get all the dirt out of the vinyl texture and then apply the 303 product. After spraying on the protectant, you need to wipe it real good before it dries with a dry cloth.

I have one on my truck and I simply use regular cleaning stuff like I do on the truck, and detail spray... Then for a little extra kick to make it look better I use Armor All Tire Foam , spray it on, and wipe it down real good... _________________
Well I am afraid it will shrink or something will happen to it every time I wash my car
The hardest thing on vinyl is the Sun. That's why I recommend the 303 product because it has a UV screening factor. Water does not seem to harm vinyl, unless it sets on it for a long time. The 303 will make the tonneau cover more water proof.
