[B]Hey everyone, New to the site seems to be Great, anyone who likes elkys can't be to bad!!!, Just bought a 83 Conquista. The elky has a 350 olds engine in it Shocked and we were kinda puzzled, could this come from the factory this way. GM would throw any motor on hand in about any vehicle in those days, the number is 1GCCW80N7DR110860. need alittle help thanks,RWE

It was originally a diesel. Someone likely converted it to gas since they had lots of problems with those engines. GM used the 350 Oldsmobile engine as a basis for the 5.7 diesel in the early 80's in Caddys,Elcaminos, and some trucks and other members of the BOP line.

Thanks Bowtie, My mechanic confirmed this too, he said that the diesel was replaced with a 350 Rocket. I just thought 305's were the only V8 offered in elky's Thanks again.
