I can't help you as I'm in S. Nevada, but if no responds, you could always rent a tow bar from U-Haul, also a hitch if your veh. is not equiped with one. That would be a turnaround trip for you, and wouldn't cost big $$$$$$$. Just a thought.

I checked uhaul allready, they wont rent a tow bar for a RWD, they require a full flat bed trailer...which requires a lvl 3 hitch...Also, I live up a windy mountain...I don't have any vehicle with a hitch that could tow the beastly elk.

BTTT

I just called a local towing company, they quoted me $1500!?!?! to tow it. I mean, I could buy a trailor for that price n borrow a truck.

No one has a trailor and a free day to help out a norcal guy with a elk and a dream?

I know you already said you don't have AAA, but to clear things up, they do actually tow a vehicle whether it broke down or not. I believe you get 4 tows per year and with each tow I think it's the first 10 miles are free, then you pay extra per mile after that.

Good luck though, hope you can work something out to get your elk to you.
