you will need to weld in the frame extensions. everything else will just bolt in. be sure to use a donor g-body with a 200-4r. swap the x-member, lines, tv cable.... all that stuff.

I dont think the 85 needs the frame extensions. If you run the stock exhaust you can use a stock crossmember. If you want true dual exhaust there are a few different "double hump" crossmembers out there. The cheapest one is probably "Iceman's" from maliburacingdotcom. Jegs, Torque Tech and I think Summit have some also. You would also need a way to lock up the convertor. Several aftermarket kits out there plus a couple wiring diagrams floating around on the net. Depending on what your replacing, you may be able to use the stock drive shaft.

What info do you need? They came in some Elkys from 85 I believe on up. They also came in other G-bodys. Its the same length as a TH350 with a short tail shaft. It has the tranny mount farther back though so crossmembers will not interchange. Still has a mechanical speedo cable. Same splines on the out put shaft so the driveshaft will interchange between it and a TH350. As for running it with out a computer all you need is an aftermarket lock up kit for the convertor. As for the TV cable. You will need the proper brackets for what ever carb you run so it can be adjusted properly and not fry the tranny up. It can be built to hold a good amount of power. The Buick GN guys run them in to the 9's with the right parts.

Not sure on moving the crossmember. You'll have to crawl under and see if there is room to move it back. I think there are some frame issues on the drivers side but I can't remember what they are.

if there is another set of holes about 3 inches back further in the frame at the crossmember than the ones the crossmember is using right now then you will be good to go

if not then youll need a 200r4 specific crossmember

i could look under our 85 it has a 2004r in it factory original with 305 engine

im about to get an 88 buick electra estate wagon that runs perfect like brand new, it has the 2004r in it as well with a 307 4bbl i am going ot keep the drivetrain and haul the car to the shredder

in a few days or so

good luck
