Ok I'm back from looking at it again. I loved all of the pictures and the car seems well documented, but I wonder about the condition of the interior in relation to the stated 227 or so miles. Does it look a little worn in some of the interior shots? But I was hooked again when the ad said working side mount exhaust.
Thats it! Its not worth a penny over $34999.99..lol.
Man, I still think this thing is cool as hell. For the record I swear it is not mine and its not me selling it or anything.. I just feel like I stumbled upon a serious piece of history and who better to share it with other than the El Camino obsessed brethern of this board. Hope you guys goes as nut ( and I mean this thing now showing up in your dreams for now on) as much as I did and.. I so want at least a poster of this car, and I can't believe I'm going to bump my own Camino off of screensaver for this..I hope she forgives me
Till Later,

OK thats why.... I was searching for Choo Choo and pace should have been camino and Indy.
Cheers Twilight Fenrir
Not bad for a piece of historic camino, I am still trying to make a decision on the choo choo model being fairly new to the El Camino scene.
Although all credit to someone attempting to make something better. I am not a purist by a long shot ( not sure if this is because I do not have the money to go New Old Stock for a complete restoration or if it is because beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that sometimes something can appeal more than original - or just cot less) either way whats great is Bingo is having one of those moments that are few and far between.
My father gave me this by driving American muscle whilst growing up and just the sound of a tuff V8 can have me swiveling my head for a look.
Bingo sell a bike a go after the pace car.. well thats my two bobs worth.

DCAR,
Sorry to come out swinging, but I have seen these kind of responses on this forum before and it does nothing for the community.
Search is my friend? Is there some sort of rule about posting about a topic that has been posted before? The next time I get excited about about an El camino related item should I check the archives before I speak? Its snippy little resonses like yours that keeps people from posting.
Discretion is your friend.

WHOA there bubba. Hold up on that car wash just a second!
Snippy? You are the one getting snippy. I didn't say anything rude, crude or even mean spirited. "YOU" did.
Check some of the moderators posts - they have used this hundreds of times.
Now, maybe you are just having a bad day, or the new jockeys you purchased are a couple sizes too small - but don't jump on me, because "YOU" are having a tough time.
And yes, it is a good idea to check the archives. . .it lessens the amount of storage space used. .
You have a nice day.
Ohh, BTW I sent an PM email to one of the moderators (who happens to be a very fair, and "NO" funny business guy) asking if there was anything wrong with my message. He stated he absolutely saw nothing wrong with it, and I did not break any of the board/site rules.

ok i was wrong....the dec(dale earnhardt chevy) elky did have the burg int....it is by far the best looking 78' ss i have laid eyes on...i love the paint and the roll pan is something i am deff gonna find for my 78'ss...
. . . .like the dale earnhardt edition that was built by dales car dealership....very nice ride!
OK, got to be careful here - don't want to step of any other fragil toes. . .
Mike, that El Camino was not built by Dale Earnhardt's dealership. It was built by some individual, and tried to be passed off as one built by then. There is also an archived thread on this car, and I think it might have been Ernie (maybe not) but I do remember someone called the dealership, sent them a copy of the ad, and the Sales Manager and Dealership Manager both stated the Elky "Was Not" built by them. The dealership in turn contacted the guy trying to pass it off, and he removed the statement.

Same bogus/incorrect ad that was on eBay. This is NOT a vehicle built or restored by Dale Earnheardt Chevrolet. Same car as before. The ad wasn't true then - and isn't true now (with relation to who built/restored it).
It's in the archives somewhere - might be the ebay thread. I just can't remember where it is, but it is there.

I'll say this about the DEI Elky. Aside from the maroon interior, which is the worst color GM could have used. There isn't a dealer in the country who is going to pull the smog stuff off a car and have their logos on it. This has to be someone's idea of what DEI should have done to an Elky. Headers, no cats, no smog pump, Edelbrock carb and on top of that, a non A/C car. I can't see anyone down south ordering a new car with no A/C. I suppose its possible. But I don't see it happening on a limited edition car. Anyway, I say its all bogus.
