my windshield washer pump got sparatic then quit I've seen pics of diff. pumps on this site but none that looks like mine ? is the pump internal to the motor or is it seperate? jim
As far as I know, they were all part of the wiper motor. There is a piston that is driven by a cam in the motor, which pulls in and pushes out the washer fluid.
Most problems are due to bad seals in the pump head (where the 3 hoses connect to the wiper motor). You can get rebuild kits to fix that.

I just spent a few days trying to get mine to work correctly. I finally got smart and bought an after market electric unit for less than $20.00. I removed the the old piston pump and bolted the new one in its place.Wired it to the original pumps plug and presto...workie.
next project...bring it on!!! _________________ 1979 El Camino
