Alright, I have a 1981 El Camino (obviously) and I just had the a/c replaced. The only thing is that my computer is out so my idle won't kick up when I turn on the a/c. The guy that worked on my car said that I could find an earlier year model and take the (i'm not sure what it is or if this is what it's called) idle kick up or something like this and put it in my engine. Is this smart, how much is it, and does anyone know where I can find one?

Thanks in advance.

Here's a thought. I don't see why you could not splice into the AC compressor wire and run a wire directly to the throttle kick-up solenoid so that way when you turn on the AC it also activates the solenoid. Anyone see anything wrong with this?

Are you still running the CCC Q-jet? Or did you replace it with something else?
