pm Post subject: dead cruise control
A couple years ago the cruise control in my '84 El Camino quit working. I usually drive it only a few miles at a time, so really didn't miss it much. Now the old girl has new paint, interior and motor and it's time to make everything work right. I had the car in the shop for the air conditioning this past week and asked them to take a look at the cruise control. As I suspected, it's an aftermarket unit installed by the previous owner back in '87. Not much for identification on the parts, but the box (for the lack of another term) that sits under the hood and connects to the speedometer cable is shot.
