Ill start with an introduction. My name is Nick and im from central OH. Im 17 years old and am a senior in high school.
There is an el camino for sale close to me that I would really like to buy. Its is an 84. Less than 100k miles and he says it runs perfect. THere is rust and dents, also the door panels are missing. Im not looking to buy a perfect one though. I would like to build a "relationship" with my car buy working on it myself. lol (my dad laughed when i said that). He said the door panels are the only thing wrong. Except for the dents and rust i can see.
I took some pictures...
He is asking 1k (USD) for it. I would like your opinions and any other suggestions that you would like to say. I have loved El Camino's for a long time and now i finally have the chance to own one myself!

G'day & welcome to ECC Nick. It is good to see young guys like you getting into El Caminos. Me being here in Australia I have little to no idea on the market values of El Caminos in the US but from what you have described and from the pics it looks like a bit of time and cash will need to be burned before you get that one on the road. That is not a bad thing as at the end you will know exactly what you have got and have the satisfaction of doing some of the work yourself.
Good luck with it. _________________ John (from Down Under)

Nick, check the floor pans & the frame from the rear wheels to the back bumper. These areas are prone to rust & can be expensive to fix. - Jon _________________ Z15 EL

But I want to start off with black interior. I dont like the red and it seems like it would cost alot to swap everything to black.
The Elky i posted has low miles for its age and runs great. That is a pretty big factor for me too as I dont know anything about the engine part of cars and neither does my dad.
