I'm not to sure on '78's, so I may be "corrected" on this forum. But check to see if you have either a cowl tag or some kind of sticker on or by the glove box. I've heard others say something about the glove box????
I have a book at home that might help and can check after work if no one has "corrected" me.
Post the numbers that you see and I can let you know what the original color was.
On a 78, they will be located on the Body Number plate (Cowl Tag) under the hood on the top driver side of the firewall near the windshield wiper arm shaft. The plate looks like this.
Jay, the cowl plate was used until about 84. In 85 it was replaced by the glovebox label.
Dave, post all of the information from the plate and we'll decode it for you. _________________ Ernie

See, I learn something new all the time. I knew I heard you 5th gen boys talking something about that glove box. Thanks Ernie! _________________ JW - NECOA #768 2011 El Camino SS - http://elcaminocentral.com/users/a73elkyss/.
