Robert (AC King);
I had my AC system converted to 134 last year and it worked fine all last summer. Even had it checked twice for leaks. This year it's blowing hot...Can I just use a can of 134 refrigerant to get it working again? Do I need to worry about over loading the system?
Obviously there is a leak somewhere and it will have to repaired, just need a quick fix for the short term....
Careful how much you put in...a little at a time. Feel your accumulator inlet and outlet first. (outlet is the line going to the compresser, inlet is attached to the evaporator core.) If inlet and outlet are warm to the touch, you may be low...always use a gauge set to verify! If it is low, you may charge the system slowly until the inlet and outlet are cool to the touch. However, I always recommend you take to an a/c shop...most don't charge for a check out, and a service is relatively cheap!
